Hello! I’m Oleg Tolstoy, a London-based interior designer.

At the heart of my practice is a deep fascination with people and their environments. I am dedicated to understanding my clients and the way they wish to live, working closely with them to create unique, thoughtfully curated interiors. Drawing on my expertise in colour, light, composition, and editing, I design spaces that are not only functional and comfortable but also playful and creatively crafted.

I began my creative journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London. My career started as a photographer working within fine art and advertising, where I founded a London-based agency and captured the essence of people in their environments worldwide. I had the privilege of photographing many renowned figures, including Andrew Lloyd Webber and Elton John, in their own homes.

After recovering from a major accident, I was drawn to a new creative direction—one focused on crafting interior scenes that genuinely support and enrich people’s lives, designing interiors that reflect my clients’ current identity while inspiring their future journey.

Born into a family of creatives, most notably the author Leo Tolstoy, I draw inspiration that fuels my artistic vision and drives my commitment to storytelling through design. I personally hand-sketch rooms and craft intricate maquettes from clay and foam board for full service projects. These serve as a dynamic sketchbook, capturing the studio’s creative process and conveying the mood of a space with a playful, human touch before transitioning the concept into CAD software.
